Sunday 18thMy dear motherDid that cablegrame come from you that I got yesterday saying that I was reported dead? If so it's quite a mistake I'm far from dead yet. I can't think how the report came about and you could not have missed it up about JD Wilmot as I told you about him. By the way a cablegram takes just as long as a letter to come out, but I sent a reply to that one. We are going back into the trenches on Wednesday. There were rumours of tomorrow but I don't think it is true.We are having a game of footer this afternoon. Officers v. Sergeants.Your loving son Tom
