Letters from the Front - TN Wilmott
Friday 04 March 2016
My dear mother,At last we are out of the trenches for a Bde rest. By Jove we have had a hard time this last 16 days. When we were out of the trenches we worked out of our lives[?] on working parties. But we ought to be out for about 7 days which is nice. It is terrible being in these New Divisions they let us in for everything. We had a lot of snow this last tour in the trenches. I had to go out on patrol when the snow was on the ground which is not nice. The night before they went out in white out it was more or less half & half my night.I will write tomorrow.Your loving son Tom
