Leavers of 1990
The OH event for leavers of 1990 was a last-minute call. A few were able to attend and the whole day was fantastic. Most of the group had not been back to the school since summer 1990. School kindly gave us a tour, starting in what was the Monitors Common Room. The stories started there. Chat of the school disco when we were shown the dining room! The sports hall and astro area were admired, and funny moments in the ‘gym’ chuckled about. The buildings on school yard seemed to be the same, but it felt that more work would take place there in present times. We were joined by Marnie Wooderson, John Priday and Mrs Lawrence. Really lovely to see these fantastic members of staff. Much talk of ‘Venture Scouts’ and what an important role the group played in the school! The library was larger and we decided most of us had not spent much time there!Food and drinks in the cosy club later, led to a wonderful day. If organised again in the future, hopefully more folks will join us. Worth the trip! Thank you so much HCS for organising.Gay Butterworth
